‘ve used some version of this CamelBak reservoir on backcountry hiking trips for years, in places like Chilean Patagonia, Nepal, Iceland, and Death Valley. I’ve never had one spring a leak, and the product makes staying hydrated easy; the 3.0-liter version is a perfect amount for a full day’s hike for me without being too heavy. I love the valve that prevents mouthpiece leaks, because it has stopped my backpack from getting soaked multiple times when packed into a bus cargo hold or car trunk. I also like the easy-close cap and large opening that makes inside cleaning easy. A caveat: the optional flow meter is a waste of money; it never seems to work accurately enough. WB
