Food and Drinks

hen my brother and I had brunch at Bergsson Mathús after spending two weeks hiking 115 miles across Iceland, the food tasted so fresh and flavorful that we couldn’t believe our mouths. We liked the variety that they gave us: bacon, hummus, granola, yogurt, serrano ham, a soft-boiled egg, pineapple, homemade rhubarb jam, peanut butter, a salad, freshly-squeezed orange juice, and freshly-baked bread. I returned to the restaurant multiple times later in the week to confirm that our voracious appetite hadn’t confused our judgment, but I was repeatedly impressed. The freshly-baked bread and jam alone are worth a visit. I ate lunch there on two occasions (the menu changes daily), and all of the food was simple, organic, and tasted great. I also appreciate that they’re friendly to laptop users and readers who want to while away hours drinking coffee and relaxing. WB
