Food and Drinks

ubble tea may be a Taiwanese creation, but restaurants and stores sell it all over Hong Kong. I have always loved boba, but the “Gong Cha Milk Pearl Milk Tea” (a bad menu translation that describes a fantastic milk tea filled with tapioca pearls and topped with a unique, salty milk foam) at tea chain Gong Cha brought my bubble tea love to stratospheric levels. I loved this drink so much that I drank one every single day for a week while visiting Hong Kong. The Gong Cha menu is quite complicated, so be sure to do some exploring. Gong Cha franchises can be found all over Hong Kong (and in cities around the world, including New York).
Runner Up: I also like the milk tea at Comebuy and love their 3Q Passion Tea. I have no idea what the 3Q means or what’s in the tea, but it tastes great. WB
