Food and Drinks

uring the five weeks I spent in Fiji for work, I frequented many of the restaurants in Nadi, Fiji’s third largest city. The resorts on Denarau Island are pleasant but bland (people brought there blindfolded might guess that they’re in Florida), but the city proper is full of excellent Indian, Chinese, Thai, and other Asian fusion restaurants due to the area’s large Asian population. When my coworkers and I wanted the best butter chicken available, we headed directly for Sitar. The open-air seating provides a lovely tropical atmosphere, the service is good, and the sauce on that butter chicken is to die for. We always paired our food with Fiji Bitters — always in a bottle — while listening to the restaurant’s live band. WB
