Food and Drinks

spent a month living on a tiny island off the coast of Fiji for work, but, once in awhile, I was able to escape to the “big city,” which in this case was Nadi, Fiji’s third largest. Due to its large Asian population, Nadi has an assortment of excellent Indian and Chinese restaurants, but it can be easy to overdose on curries. So, whenever I was on the mainland and wanted to feel like I was back at home, I went directly to Bulaccino for a scrambled egg bagel sandwich with a smoothie and a freshly baked blueberry muffin. The café is run by Adriaan and Eileen, a Dutch businessman and a Fijian chef, and it’s clear that both of them understand the restaurant business and good food. The café’s coffee, smoothies, and baked goods are outstanding, the outdoor garden seating and wine bar are therapeutic, and they even have free Wi-Fi. I like the blueberry muffins so much here that I wish I had a Bulaccino at home. Fortunately, they also have a location in Suva, Fiji’s capital city. WB
