fter a long backpacking trip in Denali National Park, eating a pizza from Panorama Pizza Pub is like ascending to a wonderful, doughy, cheesy heaven. But, aside from their great pizza, Panorama Pizza Pub is a local institution, a place for hikers, campers, and locals to gather and grab a beer. Panorama really won my heart three years ago, after a friend and I became stranded outside Denali after finishing a one-way traverse through the park. I was desperate for help, and a Panorama Pizza delivery man valiantly agreed to pick us up in his delivery shuttle. After a pizza, the bartender, Dan, let us borrow his 1971 powder blue GMC Vandura cargo van to retrieve our car in Cantwell, about 30 miles south of Denali. There may not be many people left on Earth willing to lend their car to a stranger in an emergency, but you can find one at Panorama. WB
