Food and Drinks

hile visiting St. Petersburg last year, my friend’s friend arranged for me to go with her on a rooftop tour of St. Petersburg. “They’d never let you do this in America,” our good-natured tour guide, Seva, said. “In America, we’d be wearing seatbelts and helmets!” Seva was right, and tip-toeing on rickety tin roofs above people’s ancient apartments was a bit nerve-racking, but it’s easily the most unique and romantic way to see beautiful St. Petersburg. Even more important, Seva made the experience enjoyable for us because he always goes the extra mile for his clients. For those who want it, he sets up rooftop picnics, and after our tour, he took me on a night tour of the city with some stops at St. Petersburg bars. WB
